So what are the color classics you ask? The color classics are taking Eastman and Laird’s classic comics and making them in living color. Does it hinder or does it help the comic? Personally I think it helps bring a new dimension to the comic and the colors aren’t done like its 2013,it just seems to fit nicely. As for the story, it is set on Christmas Eve and stars Leonardo who is out fighting for his life in the middle of a NYC snow storm, while the rest of the turtles are getting Christmas ready with April. It is a great contrast from the mundane silliness and the very real violence of the foot and shredder. This comic is perfectly done (of course it’s about 20 + years old already) reading these color classics makes me remember what it was like reading these comics when they first came out.

If you are a TMNT fan or a vintage comic collector this one shot is a must buy 4/5. I hope that parents who have children who enjoy the new TMNT cartoon will hopefully seek out some comics for their kids to read and this should be on the list.

Living Dead Dolls Presents Universal Monsters: Dracula

Living Dead Dolls Presents Universal Monsters: Dracula

The children of the night…such music they make!- Dracula

Dracula; one of the first Universal Monsters, and hands down the most famous vampire of all time. The king of the vampires is the latest addition to the Living Dead Dolls line.

 mez

Damien Glonek, one of the trio who created the Living Dead Dolls says “Universal Monsters are the true foundation of the horror genre.  Each has become a recognized character to people of all ages from all over the world and still seem as popular today as when their movies first came out.  They have started out as Monsters and have become icons.  When the opportunity arose to work on the Universal Monsters I was very excited to give back to the genre that I love so much.”

From his widow’s peak to the hem of his cape, every detail of Dracula has been captured. The Count wears one of the most regal outfits ever produced for a Living Dead Doll; he comes complete with full evening dress, his trademark cape, his famous medallion, his red Carnelian stone ring, and even his watch chain, have been carefully recreated. Special attention has been paid to his hypnotic eyes; they seem to stare into your very soul as one eyebrow arches upwards, beckoning you to your doom.

Living Dead Dolls Count Dracula comes complete in a collector friendly window box featuring art from the famous film. He is available for pre-order online and will be in stores in October 2013.

Mezco to Create Figures Based on the Batman Classic TV Series

Mezco Toys is proud to partner with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment, to produce toys and vehicles based on the classic 1960’s Batman Classic TV Series.

The Mez-Itz line will feature the likeness of the actors from the series such as Adam West and Burt Ward, famed for their iconic portrayals as the dynamic duo, Batman and Robin.

Mezco’s Mez-Itz line will also debut the Batman Classic TV Series toys, including the Batmobile. While the Batmobile had appeared throughout the Batman comic books, the iteration designed by George Barris for the classic TV series was radically different and quickly became a fan favorite. Batman and Robin both fit in the Mez-Itz Batmobile, as do most other Mez-Itz figures.

“Making figures and vehicles from the classic series is a dream I’ve had for more than 40 years,” says Mezco’s director of Special Projects, Mike Drake. “To finally be able to make that dream a reality is beyond amazing. Mezco is full of Batman fans. We’ll see to it that every classic Batman item we make is filled with as much Zap! Bam! and Pow! as possible.”

Mezco will be producing Mez-Itz not only of Batman and Robin, but also of the Rogues Gallery as well: The Penguin, The Joker, Catwoman and The Riddler. Every Super-Villain needs henchman, so naturally Mezco will also produce The Riddler’s Thug, inspired by the one seen on the original show.

Mezco’s first wave of Batman Classic TV Series products will hit stores in July 2013.

Review: Miss Fury #1

Miss Fury

By Robert “Rob Base” Greenwood

Screaming into action is the first lady of High end crime and fashion. Miss Fury #1 takes place in 1943 and what you will soon find out much more recent times. It has elements of Catwoman and then nothing like you have seen before.

Is she a hero or is she evil?
 photo MissFury001-Cov-Ross_zpsb062b172.jpg

These questions help curve the reader from page to page; the daughter of affluence and high society meets costumed vigilante/criminal. The story jumps from place to place but never letting you lose track of the plot.

As for its first outing Miss Fury delivers fast pace action and an update of 1940’s female crime fighters.

I hope the upcoming issues grip the reader by the neck and never let go. I am giving this 3/5 as it is a strong start it does loose some speed in the middle. I think this book is right for the picking and should be something to watch out for!

Mezco Toyz Unleashes 15 inch Mega Scale Chucky

New York- “We’re friends to the end!”   Of course, with Chucky as your friend, the end comes much sooner than you ever expected. Chucky, the homicidal doll that contains the spirit of Charles Lee Ray, a serial killer better known as “The Lakeshore Strangler,” is the latest perturbed plaything to be produced by Mezco Toyz.

“Although our Chucky can certainly be played with and posed, he is more than just a collectible toy” says Mezco’s Mike Drake, “Our design team has spent countless hours examining reference material; from photos, to stills from the films, to the surviving Chucky dolls. Mezco’s 15 inch Mega Chucky is ostensibly a screen accurate prop replica. You just have to add your own evil and you are set!”

The star of five CHILD’S PLAY films, Chucky stands 15″ tall and features real cloth Good Guys clothing, 11 points of articulation and his trademark orange hair. Chucky features realistic glass-like eyes, and a knife that he is sure to use for no good.

“Mezco’s new Chucky is sure to be a hit with fans” said sneaker enthusiast Pierre Kalanzaga, “I first saw Child’s Play 2 in the theatre when I was in my early teens and it scared the c**p out of me. When I saw Mezco’s version in person it had the same effect. I’d say they really captured the soul of Chucky, but capturing souls is what started him killing in the first place.”

Each Chucky comes packaged in his own collector friendly window box and will be on store shelves in September 2013. He is available for pre-order at finer online retailers now. For more information visit:
