NECA: TF2 Plushies

Meet the 13″ Tall TF2 Plushes

Grass grows, birds fly, sun shines, and brother, I hurt people. — The Scout

Team Fortress 2 is one of our favorite Valve games ever. It was released in 2007, but being the kind folks they are, Valve has never stopped updating it, turning it into one of the most expansive and fun to play cooperative games of all time.

Shipping in September are The Scout and Pyro — our first-ever Team Fortress plush! No less cuddly for their weapons and attack skills, these two offensive class specialists are hand-sewn and true to the animated look and feel of the game!

Gremlin’s Family NECA toys

The Cutest Part of the Gremlins Family

Who among us is not part Mogwai and part Gremlin? Sure, by day, we’re cute, fuzzy and a delight to have around the house, but lo, feed us after midnight or get us wet and we become terrors ancient and unspoken. Truly, the Gremlins movies were a tale for all times.

Okay, maybe that’s a stretch. But hey, Gremlins and Gremlins 2: The New Batch were still a lot of fun, and today we’re psyched to let you know that our latest batch of Gremlins action figures, Mogwais Series 2, has shipped and you’ll be able to find it at your favorite retailer very soon!

Mogwais Series 2: Our New Batch

Not to be confused with Gremlins Series 2, which we detailed back in July, our latest batch of Mogwais includes three exclusives from the first and second Gremlins movies.

Mega Bloks Halo Toymation Is Back

The second edition of the Mega Bloks Halo Toymation calls on fans to raise the bar

MEGA Brands Inc. (TSX: MB) – After a successful and exciting first year, Mega Bloks will soon launch their second edition of the Halo Toymation Fest, a community-driven competition in which Halo fans can create and submit their own Mega Bloks Halo toymations (stop motion animations featuring toys) for a chance to win incredible prizes.

The official 2012 Mega Bloks Halo Toymation website (http://halo.megabloks.com/en/toymation), launched on August 3rd, will once again be the home page to many hopeful contestants. At this time, fans can visit the site to learn more about the different genres of videos they will be allowed to submit, discover the panel of judges and the amazing prizes to be won and receive details about the voting criteria and tips on stop motion animation.

“We are eager to launch our second Mega Bloks Halo Toymation Fest”, said Andrew Sparkes, Vice President of Kids and Collectors at MEGA Brands. “Last year, fans really proved their dedication to the Halo brand and allowed us to see the love for our Mega Bloks products shine through the creativity of their amazing productions. We can’t wait to see what they will come up with next.”

“I had the honor of being one of the judges in last year’s Halo toymation contest, and the videos the Mega Bloks community made with just blocks, a video camera, and the magic of editing was absolutely mind-blowing”, said Jessica Shea, a.k.a. bs angel, Community Manager at 343 Industries and avid Halo gamer. “So to say I’m excited about seeing this year’s entries would definitely be an understatement!”

The submission and voting periods will roll out as such:

Phase 1 (August 3 – September 17) – Official website launch. Early submissions open September 1, at which point contestants will be invited to enter videos into the following categories: action, comedy, drama, classical and sports.

Phase 2 (September 18 – November 5) – Submissions and voting begin! Fans vote for their favorite toymations. Submissions close October 25.

Phase 3 (November 6– November 26) – Face-Off: At this time, the top 2 videos in each category will go head-to-head as voters pick the finalists.

Phase 4 (December 5) – Unveiling of contest winners: This year, top videos will be ranked per category by MEGA’s panel of expert judges.

The lucky winner and runners-up will get the chance to win prizes that include video production hardware and software, a variety of Mega Bloks Collectors building sets and one-of-a kind Mega Bloks Halo collector items!

This edition’s exciting panel of expert judges include Jessica Shea a.k.a bs angel; Jason Forthofer, co-owner and co-host of The Brick Show; Larry Hryb, better known by his Xbox LIVE Gamertag of ‘Major Nelson’, the Director of Programming for Xbox Live; Jeremy Azevedo, Head of Original Programming for Machinima, the most popular gaming and entertainment network on YouTube; Tyler Gregory, Winner of the 2011 Halo Toymation Fest, and finally Mr. Andrew Sparkes.

MegaBloks at Fan Expo

MEGA BLOKS SHOWS ITS CANADIAN PRIDE WITH FIRST APPEARANCE AT FAN EXPO
Canadian fans to be immersed in the worlds of Mega Bloks construction sets

MONTREAL – (August 22, 2012) – MEGA Brands Inc. (TSX: MB) For the first time ever, Mega Bloks will be showcasing some of their most exciting lines of construction playsets at the 3rd largest pop culture event in North America: Fan Expo in Toronto. The Mega Bloks booth will welcome fans into the worlds of Mega Bloks Halo, Mega Bloks Power Rangers as well as the newly launched Mega Bloks World of Warcraft.

“As a Canadian company, we are particularly excited to be a part of Fan Expo”, said Vic Bertrand, Chief Innovation Officer at MEGA Brands. “We really look forward to connecting with our Canadian fans, giving them the chance to immerse themselves in some of our most popular brands and offering them exclusive giveaways and fun contests”.

The excitement doesn’t end there. Mega Bloks is creating the ultimate (and philanthropic) building experience at this year’s Fan Expo by transforming a section of their booth into a community build wall — the Power Rangers MEGA Mural. Fan Expo guests are invited to visit the booth to add as many blocks as they wish to the mural in order to help build a giant Mega Bloks Power Rangers Red Ranger Mask. For this, participants will receive super-cool micro-action figure giveaways (while supplies last) and a chance to take a picture with the Power Rangers themselves!

A loyal supporter of the cause of autism, Mega Bloks will donate the Power Rangers MEGA mural to the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation after the event to recognize their dedication to children and families affected by autism.

To top it all off, Mega Bloks will also be bringing a very special guest to Fan Expo this year: towering over 10 feet high and made of over 375,000 Mega Bloks, the enormous Thrall build, a character from the World of Warcraft, will be on display for plenty of photo opportunities for both fans and press throughout the entire event.

For more information on Mega Bloks and their products, please visit their Fan Expo booth (#1238) at the Metro Toronto Convention Center from August 23rd – 26th or http://www.megabloks.com.
