Klingon beer

How do you say ‘chug’ in Klingon? We may soon find out. CBS Consumer Products and The Federation of Beer is announcing the creation of a new Star Trek branded beer – Klingon Warnog. The brew, slated to ship in the US and Canada this year, will be revealed at the Nightclub & Bar Show in Las Vegas on March 25th.

Klingon Warnog is a hand-crafted Roggen Dunkel – a bold beer suited for the harsh Klingon lifestyle – and will be the first Star Trek themed beer to hit the U.S.

Klingon Warnog, Dunkelweizen with Rye: 5.5% ABV, 19 IBU

Klingon Warnog is an official Star Trek beer brewed under license by Tin Man Brewing Company of Evansville, Indiana.  This singular beer incorporates rye malt into a modern Dunkelweizen grain bill, creating a flavor profile that is both familiar and unique.  Warnog’s aroma is predominantly mild banana and clove produced by the German wheat yeast, supported by subtle sweet malt character from the use of Munich malt.  The flavor draws heavily from the blending of the rye malt and traditional clove character, creating a very rich and unique flavor.  The inclusion of wheat and caramel malts help to round out the mouthfeel of this beer, making this Dunkelweizen hearty enough to be called a Klingon Warnog.

Lady Aiko art show in Red Hook

By Ben Velasquez

As a fan of traditional old school grafitti writing, stencling was one of those things that was shunned upon because it was considered “cheating”. fast forward to today’s grafitti movement  and it has taken a different direction.

No matter what you of course still have those sprayers who stick to traditional grafitti, but professional grafitti artist like stenciler lady Aiko have taken a turn for the better.

When you see her massive work as well as small pieces she makes stencling look difficult. Her endless talent is one to blame. I myself never thought I would see the day were stencling was taken to a whole other level. Aiko’s work is  fantastic, figurative, detailed and most of all unique. We caught up with aiko for a quick interview during her last showing at gallery Brooklyn. Which is closing it’s doors after Aiko’s show. The show is called “The Bunny party” and it’s on display until Saturday the 28th. Closing party is the 29th 6-10.

Press release below: Honda Announces NM4 Vultus – New Model with a Futuristic Edge

21 March 2014

Honda announces the new NM4 Vultus, a ground-breaking machine inspired by futuristic machines seen in the anime and manga television and film styles, known collectively as “Japanimation”.

Created by a young design team who remained true to their original concept at every stage through to production, the NM4 Vultus brings radical style to the streets, with function from the future for a new breed of rider. The NM4 represents a machine capable of crossing traditional two-wheeled lines and reaching out to a wider audience.

Vultus is Latin for appearance, expression – or face. The NM4 Vultus, with its LED lights, future-shock style and stealth bomber silhouette presents a look that will not have been seen in any cityscape this side of an anime movie…

Underneath the brooding menace is a rock-solid chassis and engine package. Packed with low-friction technology, its 745cc twin-cylinder engine is canted forward, creating space and a low centre of gravity. Delivering strong low and mid-range power and torque for smooth acceleration coupled with excellent fuel economy, it’s also equipped as standard with Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), giving the rider options between automatic twist-and-go D and S mode – plus trigger-operated computer game-style manual MT mode. Intuitive and easy to use, it adds to the futuristic appeal of the NM4 Vultus and is the perfect complement to the engine’s gutsy, usable performance.
