Diamond Select Toys is at it again with their DC animated collectibles line. This time it isn’t for The Dark Knight though. This time it’s for none other than the grandfather of all super heroes – The Man of Steel himself, Superman!
Diamond Select Toys excited fans and collectors when they revealed their plans for Warner Bros. popular DC animated series like “Batman” and “Justice League” during Toy Fair 2015. The one line noticeably absent, just like DC Collectibles, was products from “Superman: The Animated Series.” It was something that I took notice of immediately as I’m not only a fan of The Last Son of Krypton but also a big fan of “Superman: The Animated Series.” When it was finally revealed that we’d be getting collectibles based off of Bruce Timm’s successful follow up to “Batman: The Animated Series”, I was very happy.
So far Diamond Select Toys (DST) have released four statues and busts based off of “Superman: The Animated Series.” We have two Femme Fatales vinyl statues of Supergirl, one resin bust of her, and now one of her cousin, Kal-El. Superman is undoubtedly the hero most collectors and fans have been waiting for since the release of Batman last summer 2015. Let me tell you, he was well worth the wait.
Diamond Select Toys’ Superman resin bust stands at 6″ tall and has some weight to him. Just like the Supergirl resin bust statue that released in March, both kryptonians are featured a top a base bringing to mind the art deco of the animated series – a futuristic city building in Metropolis. Featuring a sculpt by Varner Studios, the Superman resin bust captures the charm of the animated series and perfectly captures the identifiable art design of Bruce Timm’s Superman. If you liked the animated series, this resin bust is a must have and if you just like Superman, the bust is quite simply so Superman-ish, that you’ll find it difficult to pass him up at your local comic shop next time you’re there.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leonardo Katana Prop Replica Now Available From Factory Entertainment
Concord, CA – Factory Entertainment, Inc., the Concord, California-based producer of licensed toys and collectibles is pleased to announce a brand new limited edition prop replica of Leonardo’s Katana from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows.
Copied directly from the original props used in the production of the film, this museum quality item has been hand-crafted to deliver a replica of exceptional collectability.
Factory Entertainment’s development team spent many hours scrutinizing the original props and production reference from the film, creating the world’s first replica of a signature weapon featured in a Ninja Turtles movie.
As a screen-accurate piece, this replica has a total length of 41.5”. The highly polished blade of the sword is forged of high-carbon steel and is gracefully curved with a kissaki point/tip with a Iaito-style dull blade edge. The hilt features a corded wrapping in Leo’s signature blue, with white reproduction ray-skin beneath and eight turtle-shaped menuki/ornaments. The tsuba/guard is cast metal and features a turtle shell motif. The pommel is also cast metal and features an embedded reproduction stone. The carved hardwood scabbard features an enamel paint outer coating and six cast metal turtle ornaments.

New Game of Thrones Collectibles Just In Time For Season 6
Concord, CA – Factory Entertainment, Inc., the Concord, California-based producer of licensed toys and collectibles is pleased to announce two brand new items from its Game of Thrones line, just in time for the series sixth season: Castle Black and The Wall Desktop Sculpture and The Red Keep Relief Sculpture.
Castle Black and the Wall Desktop Sculpture
Last year, Factory Entertainment debuted its Game of Thrones Winterfell Desktop Sculpture, the first in a proprietary line of screen-accurate scaled environments. Today, the company expands its offerings from that category with its gigantic Castle Black and The Wall Desktop Sculpture.
Fans familiar with the show already know that The Wall is a colossal fortification constructed millennia ago and that it is garrisoned by several structures along its length which are defended by the Sworn Brothers of the Night’s Watch who maintain their headquarters from one of those structures, the remote and isolated stronghold, Castle black.
Standing an impressive 12.5” tall, Castle Black, the elevator and a section of The Wall including its battlements are perfectly captured at 1:700 scale
The Red Keep Relief Sculpture
Factory Entertainment’s second new Game of Thrones collectible is another highly recognizable castle from the series, The Red Keep Relief Sculpture.
The Red Keep dominates the skyline of the city of Kings Landing. Located at the southeastern corner of the city, it overlooks Blackwater Bay and the Narrow Sea. It serves as the city’s primary fortress and redoubt and is the Seat of the Iron Throne.
Capturing the majesty of The Red Keep, Factory Entertainment’s artists were able to sculpt this collectible in a mixture of high and low relief, which are commonly used in historical art pieces.
Each piece is cast in heavyweight polyresin and is finished in a bronze effect and patina. The Red Keep Relief Sculpture has a choice of display options on the rear and can be either wall mounted or displayed on a desktop.
Both limited edition sculptures are individually numbered and come with a certificate of authenticity.
“To create these iconic pieces, HBO provided our designers with access to the original visual effects files used to create various props and sets from the series.” said Barry Eldridge, Product Developer of Factory Entertainment’s Game of Thrones sculptural lines. “In addition, scenes from the show were carefully scrutinized for fine details and master patterns were then meticulously hand sculpted to create immersive experiences. We truly feel that we’ve been able to accurately represent what’s presented on-screen and are very proud to offer these new pieces to GOT enthusiasts everywhere.”
