The only Masterpiece you will ever want but may never have.

Takara Transformers Masterpiece MP-23 Decepticon Exhaust with Exclusive Coin.

image

The one toy everyone is talking about but no one in the US will (more than likely) never be able to get, unless you have friends overseas.

image

image

This classic figure may look like a simple repaint of MP-20 Wheeljack.

image

But, with a new head sculpt, some other tooling and paint apps, this figure has become something else entirely.

image

He isn’t simply just a silly repaint, his roots exist in the realm of Diaclone.

image

image

Just like his counterpart, Lancia Stratos (Wheeljack) are both pre-Transformers lore.

image

image

The Marlboro logo on the car isn’t simply copyright infringement, it’s based on the actual racing car it’s designed after.

image

Sites like Robot Kingdom have put up disclaimers like this stating Takara Transformers Masterpiece MP-23 Decepticon Exhaust:”This item was claimed by Phillip Morris USA, that infringe PM USA’s MARLBORO Roof Design.”

image

So that means here in the US, Marlboro would sue if this toy is sold here. Thus, instantly making this toy rare in The States and more valuable and, in the long run, will become overly priced on eBay.

Previewsworld has unveiled a new action figure-themed variant cover for Marvel’s “Star Wars #1

Previewsworld has unveiled a new action figure-themed variant cover for Marvel’s “Star Wars #1.”

image

The cover is an homage to the classic Kenner line of star wars figures, replicating the packaging art and action figures that once lined store’s shelves (and now collector’s cabinets). The cover features a vintage Luke Skywalker figure, replicating how it looked back in yee-olden days. The cover is an incentive cover for retailers, meaning that comic shops can only obtain them if they order a certain amount of standard Star Wars #1 copies. In this instance, retailers’ orders on Star Wars #1 had to match 200% of their orders on Original Sin #8.

“Star Wars #1” will come with a slew of other variant covers, including a Skottie Young variant, a movie variant, a Joe Quesada variant, an Alex Ross Variant, and numerous more.

“Star Wars #1,” written by Jason Aaron and drawn by John Cassaday, hits comic shops on January 14th, 2015.

Review: Dr Who the Eleventh Doctor issue #5

DOCTOR WHO: THE ELEVENTH DOCTOR #5

Review by: Mike Lacey

Issue number five of Titan Comic’s Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor series is the conclusion of a two issue story. The Doctor and his companion for this series Alice Obiefune, along with Jones, the newest member of the TARDIS crew, find themselves aboard a United System Research Base, facing the ARC experiment which has been claiming victims one by one, leaving them in a comatose state.

This issue pushes along the development of our characters quite nicely. Alice is quickly becoming a self reliant companion. She can definitely hold her own as she takes charge in the Doctor’s absence, taking charge as she manages to get herself and Jones out of a particularly sticky situation. The Doctor once again encounters August Hart, Chief Security Officer for SERVEYOUinc., even though it is only his first meeting with the Doctor from his perspective(Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey stuff). As well as the mysterious SERVEYOUinc. being further revealed as the main villain of this series thus far.

And just like an episode of Doctor Who, not everything is as it seems. This two part story was very reminiscent of the series five episode The Beast Below, which goes to illustrate just how similar in tone this series is in relation to the television show. Both of the writers for this series so far, Rob Williams and Al Ewing have an extremely good handle on the voice of the Eleventh Doctor. The stories that both Williams and Ewing have delivered in these first five issues very well could have fit right into Matt Smith’s run as the Doctor. Which is a testament to the book and bodes well for the future of this series from Titan Comics that I am very much looking forward to.
