San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Figure from Playmates Toys –  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows Bebop with Trike

You’re going to need a big bike to move this warthog around! Bebop’s trike has enough power to take on the Ninja Turtles. As seen in the recent film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, this chopper was created by Paul Jr. Designs and comes equipped with two rocket grenade projectiles. It also features custom vacuum-metallized ‘chrome’ finishes, alternate deco Bebop and collector window box packaging with an outer sleeve. It’s a limited edition item with just 500 available exclusively for $30 each at San Diego Comic-Con (no online offering) from Thursday through Sunday at Nickelodeon’s booth –#4113.

 

Diamond Select Toys Reveal Panels and Events for Comic-Con International 2016

Comic-Con International in San Diego is one of the largest gatherings of toy lovers known to mankind, and every year DST leaps at the chance to interact with their customers at the event, as well as introduce themselves to new fans! This year, DST will be all over Comic-Con, with a booth (#2607) full of prototypes and exclusive toys, two panel presentations that break down our upcoming products, and they are once again taking over Taste & Thirst in the Gaslamp Quarter, turning the popular eatery into a hive of Alien goodness!

On Thursday, July 21, DST will open up their Alien Lounge at 715 4th Avenue (the home of Taste & Thirst on 4th) with a kick-off event from 11 PM to midnight, for ages 21 and up. Alien-themed door prizes will be given out at the kick-off, and the Lounge will be open all weekend, with numerous DST Alien products on display, as well as a photo backdrop featuring Alien Minimates for scary selfies! Stop by for a bite to eat – the chicken wings are to die for – and stay for the xenomorphic atmosphere!

On Saturday, July 23, DST will host the panel “Minimates Mini-Figures: Marvel, TMNT & Beyond” from 1:30 to 2:30 in Room 8 at the convention center. After a slide presentation, DST president Chuck Terceira and prototype painter Brian Felgar will discuss what’s coming up for the long-running 2-inch Minimates mini-figure line and the 4-inch Vinimates vinyl line, including more Aliens, Predator, Gotham, and the reveal of Marvel Animated Minimates Series 3. Marketing supervisor Zach Oat will moderate the Q&A, and give out prizes for the best questions!

Then, on Sunday, July 24, DST will present “Inside DST: Ghostbusters, Star Trek, Marvel & More” from 3:00 to 4:00 in Room 24ABC. DST sculptor Eli Livingston and prototype painter Jason Wires will discuss upcoming action figures, statues, ships and banks from Star Trek, Gotham, Marvel, Justice League and more, and a slideshow of upcoming product will showcase unreleased items. Once again, DSTZach will moderate the Q&A and award prizes!

And in addition to the long list of exclusives that will be available at DST’s booth #2607 – including products based on Marvel, DC, Ghostbusters and Star Trek – there will also be two DST items on sale at the Entertainment Earth/Toys”R”Us booth, #2343. One is a marshmallow-covered Ghostbusters Select Ray Stanz figure, the companion to our Peter Venkman, and the other is an exclusive two-pack of Muppets Minimates, Kermit and Miss Piggy, in formal wear!

MATTEL AND DC PRESENT HE-MAN/THUNDERCATS

 

The Power of Grayskull and The Sword of Omens Collide this October

 

It’s the epic crossover event 30 years in the making! He-Man and the Masters of the Universe team up with the ThunderCats to make comic book and pop culture history! Scheduled to debut in October and published by DC Entertainment, this monthly miniseries will embroil heroes and villains—Masters, Mutants and ThunderCats—in a mind-blowing six-part comic book saga!

 

The story will be brought to life by the writing team of Mattel Head Writer and Masters of the Universe Lead Creative Rob David and Supervising Producer Lloyd Goldfine, with all-star artist Freddie E. Williams II (Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) handling interiors and cover art. 

 

“The Masters of the Universe and the ThunderCats are both global phenomena, beloved by millions. Teaming them up for one enormous story will prove to be a publishing event that fans simply cannot miss. This is something that transcends both comic book and pop culture,” said DC Editor-in-Chief Bob Harras.

 

“For everyone out there who took different action figures and teamed them up to take on the world, this one’s for you,” said co-writer Rob David, who recently wrote the storyline for the critically acclaimed He-Man: the Eternity War, published by DC Entertainment in 2015. 

 

“Writing this crossover event is the thrill of a lifetime, and Rob and I can’t wait to get started,” added co-writer Lloyd Goldfine. “You don’t wait 30 years and not go big!”

 

In his eternal desire to destroy the mighty ThunderCats, the evil Mumm-Ra quests for a weapon that can rival the legendary Sword of Omens: He-Man’s Sword of Power! But his dimension-spanning scheme launches a cataclysmic crisis that will, for the first time ever, unite Lion-O, Cheetara, Tygra, Panthro, WilyKit and WilyKat with He-Man, Battlecat, Teela, Man-At-Arms and the rest of the Masters of the Universe.

 

“The Power of Grayskull and the Great Eye of Thundera have aligned to make me the luckiest guy on all the earths!” explained artist Freddie E. Williams II. “He-Man and ThunderCats were my life when I was in grade school—family and friends knew I loved both cartoons so much. I used to pause episodes and draw from them, since they were so awesome. The He-Man/ThunderCatscrossover is the fulfillment of a lifelong goal and my fanboy dream come true! I’m having a blast!”

THE FINAL MASTER Review

In an era when China was facing massive social change Master Chen Shi’s mission is to continue the dying art of Wing Chung to honor his masters dying wish by opening a martial arts academy.  The problem is that in order to open a new academy in Tianjin one must first defeat 8 out of the 19 academy’s champions! OH WAIT; no one’s ever beaten more than seven before! Wait that’s not it, Master Chen cannot partake in the challenges; according to tradition one must train an apprentice to represent him. 
Of course he picks Geng Lianchen, the kid in a gang who’s willing to catch a beating just to take a look at his beautiful wife.  After a long and honestly at times confusing story, Lianchen honors and respects Chen’s wife, and Master Chen cares for his apprentice; only then does he discover that even if Lianchen does defeat the academies he will be ostracized or worse … for embarrassing the martial arts community of Tianjin.
Being and honorable man who lives and breathes Wing Chun and wants to keep the art alive he faces the dilemma, sacrifice Lianchen to keep Wing Chun alive?  To honor Lianchen (or to clear his conscience in my opinion) Chen takes on the remaining champions of the schools to demonstrate the power of Wing Chun.  In a very exciting set of fight scenes down a very well-lit alley way Master Chen is amazing in his display of what he represents, what Lianchen represents, the hand to hand fighting style of Wing Chun!  As he takes on each champion they progressively get to be greater fighters further exemplifying Chen’s craft.  Did I mention he is no killing these men?  One champion warns another “He does not strike to kill, he aims to maim”

Overall an entertaining movie with amazingly choreographed fight scenes ranging from hand to hand combat, “push knives”, broadswords, to Bardiches this movie has it all covered!  If the storyline was focused on a fraction of what the fighting scenes were this movie would be a huge hit!  Then again, it is a Martial Arts movie.
