Unicron is a beast

Ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, Hasbro revealed their largest TRANSFORMERS figure ever – The Lord of Chaos. The Planet Eater. The Chaos Bringer – UNICRON! After last year’s crowdfunding success, HASLAB is back with this exciting new creation – the first ever TRANSFORMERS HASLAB project – TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON UNICRON.

UNICRON stands alone as the most menacing figure in TRANSFORMERS lore, capable of devouring entire worlds and civilizations. He debuted in the 1986 film Transformers: The Movie and his insatiable appetite nearly brought the entire universe to its knees. But his legacy transcends both space and time.

The gigantic UNICRON would be the largest TRANSFORMERS figure ever created, taking the title from the previous record-holder, FORTRESS MAXIMUS. Artists and designers from Takara Tomy and Hasbro are working to capture the intricate details and features of the relentless Chaos Bringer to make this the most accurate UNICRON fans have ever seen.

In his immense robot mode, this version of UNICRON is over 27” tall and has more than 50 points of articulation. Includes fine pose-ability, such as movable eyes, fingers, mouth, and even teeth. He converts into a terrifying planet mode that is a stunning 30” in diameter. The planet mode features the iconic planet-eating jaws, geared to open so UNICRON can devour unassuming worlds. The planet mode also features a series of posable planetary rings. Comes with a stand for posing both planet & robot mode.

If this campaign is backed with a minimum 8,000 backers before August 31, 2019 at 11:59 PM EST, fans will be able to awaken the mighty UNICRON!

To support this campaign for TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON UNICRON head to the HASLAB tab on HasbroPulse.com.

TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON UNICRON (Age: 16+) is priced at $574.99 and will be available in early 2021

The Bonds of Trust and Friendship Between the World’s Finest Heroes are Tested
The Batman Who Laughs Mini-Series Expands to Seven Issues

Up in the sky, in the dark of the night, trust no one—for the Secret Six walk among us! Spinning out of the devastating events of DC’s THE BATMAN WHO LAUGHS, Superman and Batman join together once more in an all-new monthly comic book—and they’re facing a terrifying new threat that could strike from anywhere. Writer Joshua Williamson (THE FLASH, JUSTICE LEAGUE/SUICIDE SQUAD) and artist David Marquez (Civil War II, Avengers) announced today in an interview with THR’s Heat Vision that DC’s World’s Finest Heroes will team-up in BATMAN/SUPERMAN, debuting on August 28, 2019.

To launch the new DC series, the first arc of BATMAN/SUPERMAN will follow the two titular heroes as they hunt down six infected heroes in the DCU—people revealed to be infected by the Batman Who Laughs with a deadly pathogen that violently transforms them into the evilest versions of themselves. The Dark Knight and the Man of Steel must journey into the depths of Gotham City to learn which of their fellow heroes has been transformed into the horrifying horseman of their most dangerous and deranged foe ever.

But before the Caped Crusader teams up with The Last Son of Krypton this August, DC will extend Scott Snyder and Jock’s thrilling mini-series THE BATMAN WHO LAUGHS to a surprise seventh issue, highlighting the final showdown between Batman and the Jokerized version of himself who originated from the Dark Multiverse in DARK NIGHTS: METAL. DARK – Season 1 & 2 streaming on Netflix

By A. Kirana

Disclaimer: At the time of this writing, I have not had the chance to binge Season 2, which premiered June 21, 2019.

There has been much talk, over the years, complaining significantly about Netflix, slowly but surely, losing much of the licensing for shows/movies, which had been their bread and butter, to other streaming services. To offset these losses, Netflix began producing their own shows/movies. Hidden among their recognizable properties, such as, Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, and Stranger Things are little gems that needs mentioning.

One of my favorites, DARK, is a German science fiction series, situated in a small German town built around a nuclear plant. DARK has been compared to Stanger Things, but honestly, though they have a few things in common, the premise and plot lines are vastly different. Both shows, the main cast of characters are relatively young, whose lives take a turn for the supernatural. Portals are another plot device used in both shows, but whereas Stranger Things’ would take you for a visit into the Upside Down, DARK’s portals travels through time. DARK, similar to Stranger Things, is a show to pay close attention to. Look away, even for a moment, and you may miss a crucial piece to the puzzle that is DARK, where everything is connected.

DARK opens with the suicide of Michael Kahnwald, and the aftermath and effect on his family and the small town. His oldest son, Jonas, reeling from the suicide, lands in a mental ward, and upon release, while trying to reconnect with his friends, his world comes crashing down again, when his love interest’s little brother, Mikkel, disappears as they went to explore the unused tunnels beneath the nuclear plant.

Mikkel’s disappearance, not Michael’s suicide, is the actual start of the story, and any thoughts this was a simple child abduction story, will be dashed quickly. When the body of a child is discovered in the vicinity where Mikkel disappeared, it was immediately and incorrectly assumed to be Mikkel’s. Confusion, disappoint, and soon panic, gripped the town when the autopsy revealed the victim, dressed in fashion from 30 years earlier, had been dead for only 16 hours. The discovery raised more questions than answers, but one thing is certain: past, present, future; everything’s connected.

Russian Doll – Season 1 streaming on Netflix

By A. Kirana

“Happy Birthday, baby!’

Have you ever had one of those days, where a strong sense of déjà vu continually nags at you; wish you could change a monumental decision, changing the course of your life; or better yet, reset your life through a hard reboot? Russian Doll somewhat tackles those ideas; a dash of Groundhog Day; a sprinkling of Edge of Tomorrow (disclosure: I’ve never seen EoT) and 100% entertaining. Russian Doll is another one of Netflix’s gems, I mentioned previously. A dark comedy, created by the minds of Natasha Lyonne, Amy Poehler and Leslye Headland, and starring Natasha as Nadia Vulvokov, a 36 year old software engineer, whom on the night of her 36th birthday party, thrown by her friend Maxine (Greta Lee), unexpectedly dies when she gets hit by a car while leaving her party, but finds herself suddenly back in Maxine’s bathroom at her party.

Unsure of the reality of her current situation, she begins to search for answers, all the while, stuck in a time loop, continually dying and reappearing in Maxine’s bathroom. No matter how she tried to avoid it, her death seemed inevitable as was her ‘rebirth’ as her life rebooted each time and returning to the night of her party.

Unable, no matter how she tried, to convince her friends of her experiences, each death/rebirth began eroding on Nadia’s sanity. As Nadia resigned herself to her fate of her ‘accidental immortality’ and the gravity of her situation, fate stepped in. During one of her journeys towards death, in the ensuing panic of those around her, she came across Alan Zevari (Charlie Barnett) whom, as she was, was completely unaffected by death.

Russian Doll is not what you would expect and by the end, you will be glad you stayed for the whole ride. As an added bonus, as of June 11th, Russian Doll has been renewed for a second season! Looking forward to further adventures of Nadia and Alan and cannot wait to see where the journey will take us next season.
